The Allen Mathematics Fund is established to further student advancement in mathematics at Francis Marion University. Named for Roger W. Allen, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics, and managed by the Chairman of the Department, the Fund supports purposes related to mathematics in which students are direct beneficiaries.

Uses envisioned for the fund include

to fund the memberships into Kappa Mu Epsilon, a national mathematics honorary society, to those students who are eligible to join;

to provide for trophies and prizes to be given to the students that score highest at the Pee-Dee Regional High-School Mathematics Tournament;

to acquire mathematics books for the library beyond what is normally possible through the University budget;

to provide for an outside speaker to deliver a seminar in mathematics on campus once a year;

to pay the expenses for mathematics majors at Francis Marion University to be able to attend regional mathematics conferences.
