Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Math Club will be on the subject The Upcoming Math Modeling Contest and will be held at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, 04 February 2003 in Room 407 of Leatherman Hall | ||
|
The purpose of the Math Club is to engage students in activities outside the classroom which have a basis in the field of mathematics. Cooperation between students, faculty, and the community will allow the exploration of mathematics minds at FMU. The Math Club is not merely for juniors and seniors. Rather, the Math Club is for students who have an interest in mathematics and who want to be involved in activities that help them learn more about mathematics, mathematical applications, and potential mathematical careers. Most importantly, the Math Club allows members to interact with their fellow students and professors in a casual, informal way. If you become a member, this can help you to gain familiarity with the mathematical community and to strengthen your potential when you enter the job market or go to graduate school. Finally, the Math Club is the local student affiliate chapter of the Southeast Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). |
