    Caeli Enarrant Gloriam Dei
“The Heavens Declare the Glory of God”. A madrigal recomposed from that of Benedetto Marcello and scored for double-bass, 'cello, two tenors, two altos, and two sopranos.
Fugue in A Major
In three parts. It is optimally played by three performers on two or three pianos onstage. It may also be played on strings, or, for those willing to accept the challenge, as a very difficult solo virtuoso piece.
Prelude and Invention in C Major
In three parts. It may be played on two hands or, with greater sensitivity, on violoncello, viola and violin.
Invention in D Major
In two parts. A percussive piece, it goes well on the piano and may be played as well on a violoncello and viola.
Invention in E-Flat Major
In three parts. It is intended to be play on strings, but it may be played on a pipe organ with a pedal-assist at one spot where the voices stray further apart than the hands can reach.
Invention in A-Flat Major
In three parts. It may be played equally well on strings or on a keyboard.
Prelude and Postlude
Scored for violoncello, viola, viola and soprano, it may also be performed by a soprano with an organ accompaniment. It is intended to be ceremonial music. The prelude and the postlude are to surround a solemn event, such as the exchange of marriage vows.
