Mike Jordan has been appointed to the Walter D. Smith Chair in Psychology.
This chair is named for FMU’s first president, who served
from 1970 to 1983. Jordan has been a member of the FMU faculty
since 1972. He serves as coordinator of the psychology program and as
director of institutional research. He was the university’s
Distinguished Professor for 2003-2004. He earned the B.A., M.A., and
Ph.D. degrees in psychology from Georgia State University.
“Mike Jordan is one of the founding members of the
Psychology Department and has ably served it since 1972,” said
John Hester, chair of the FMU Psychology Department. “This chair
recognizes his exemplary teaching and scholarship. Over the years
Mike’s intellect and energy have enriched every aspect of the
department’s work.”
