Windows 2000 - Configuring TCP/IP

You must have an Ethernet card installed before you can configure your computer.

Please right click on the My Network Places Icon and choose Properties.

You should now see a screen similar the screen below.

You should notice a red X on your local Area Connection since you are not connected and configured to the network. After you have configured TCP and activated, this red X will disappear.

You will now need to highlight the Local Area Connection ICON by right clicking and choose properties.

You will now need to configure Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by highlighting this protocol and clicking on Properties. You will need to be sure that the setting looks like below. Obtain and IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
