Williamson Park runs along both sides of Swift Creek between Spring Street and Cashua Street in Darlington. Foot trails wind over bridges and amongst cypress knees and an abundance of vegetation. It is often easy to forget you are in an urban setting. Visiting there on September 24, 2006 we watched a pileated woodpecker and a bunch of Carolina Wrens and flickers. The park is open daylight hours at no charge.

Some of the boardwalks are in bad shape and recently supporters sponsored a 5 kilometer race to raise funds. Click here for a trail map.
